9.40 1m. 3/4-y-o11 Ran ISF EBF Median Auction (Fillies) M´dn of €15,000.00 3/4-y-o
1st - €10,365.00, 2nd - €2,550.00, 3rd - €1,200.00, 4th - €750.00 11 Ran Almass gained a deserved win but was all out and just held on from the fast-finishing Be Smart.
She moved through sweetly to lead two furlongs from home and looked to have the measure of the runner-up passing the furlong marker but was made to fight close home as John Oxx's charge picked up.
The winner had some strong maiden form as a juvenile but was out-pointed by Chelsy on her return here last month.
This didn't look a strong event but Be Smart had shown some ability on her sole start in a decent contest at Naas last October and was open to improvement. She attracted support from 9/2 to 7/2.
Mick Kinane was at work on the filly two furlongs out and she looked well held until starting to motor in the last 100 yards and finishing to great effect.
Spilletta kept on well into third without troubling the front two. Held up she stayed on into fourth over a furlong out and kept at it well. This was a significant step up on previous efforts and she qualifies for a handicap mark now.
Red Key chased the leaders throughout but could only keep on at the same pace from two furlongs out while the same can be said of Cullofane.
