Meade & Flanagan win Down Royal's opener
I was kicking myself for running him in Cork in a winners' bumper - I got greedy, It was my intention when he won his bumper to bring him back here because I bought him off Donnchadh Doyle and he kept saying to me 'don't be running him in bumpers'!. he jumps so well and it's nice to have him as a novice and to go for novice races over a trip. His jumping was electric and I'd say when he ends up jumping fences that will be his real mark. Touch wood at the minute his wind is good, he's a Robin Des Champ and a lot of them aren't. He's a very clear-winded horse and was quite impressive at the end so thrilled.
Sancta Simona maintains unbeaten hurdles record
she was still green and hopefully she will improve. We will just try and keep her to the mares' programme. She's a fine, big mare and I like her; she's a mare that we have always had time for. She was very keen and was doing a lot of racing all the time and never got a chance to settle. I think once she gets a faster pace she might be better and maybe jump better as well.
WKD KO for Samcro
I think he'll be aiming at the Grand National race they have at Far Hills, worth USD200,000. He is running so well now they could now keep him for the Fighting Fifth or Christmas Hurdle. it was a bit of a surprise. We hoped we'd come second (to Samcro) as we thought Sharjah would need softer ground but he was race-fit. We were hoping for second and he won on merit. He got left and got stuck at the start when fourth in the Galway Hurdle and had to come wide around the bends so could have been a lot closer that day. We couldn't believe he beat Samcro today!. He has certainly gone out on a fantastic high for us and we couldn't be more pleased.
Brosna George delights Moore in Down Royal
I rode a bumper winner for (joint-owner) Gerry Cullen about 50 years ago when I was a kid. We've had a bit of luck over the years. He's been very consistent and has been knocking on the door. He ran into a well-handicapped horse the last day. He'll go chasing shortly, he's got nice technique and will take to it quickly. It's nice to be back in the winners enclosure.

Walsh's Batcio gains second bumper success
two and a half miles in Galway was probably a bit far for him, he's a two miler. He won a point-to-point and he is a great jumper. Luke (McMahon, owner) has him for Aubrey to ride him and he's after having great fun on him - he's won a bumper in Kilbeggan and won here today. He'll probably get a bit of a break now - he likes good ground. He'll win a maiden hurdle with Aubrey somewhere and then he'll go jumping fences.
