I'd suppose he was well-in at the weights. He stays a mile and a quarter on grass but he gets keen when he comes here for some reason. He jumps hurdles well and I think he'll stay the two miles. I'd like to run him over a mile and a quarter here and drop him in.

An inch is as good as a mile. I like that horse and he's a bit green still. He was very green the first day and did everything wrong. I'd say a mile will suit him even better.

Iron Major wins his 6th race

Akasaka was put up to a mark of 82 by the stroke of the handicappers pen. On the other hand Iron Major has earned every pound of his 84 rating. I'm baffled then as to how Iron Major could be 12/1 and Akasaka just 9/2.

Hoban gets Lord Kenmare home to land a punt

Conor gave him a good ride as he likes to be ridden that way - taking his time and coming down the outside. That's the first time he's been down in that grade for a long while. We put a tongue-tie on for the first time as he was just not finishing out his races.

Lyons back amongst the winners at Dundalk

That takes us off the cold list (first winner since Reggae Rock scored here in early November). We've always thought a bit of this horse - he's a High Chaparral and is only filling into himself now. We thought he'd win his maiden and hopefully he'll go on to better things.

That's been a long time coming. He's been consistent and I'm happy as Sean is a great supporter of the yard. He was off for quite a while (about 17 months) with a bad injury and he deserved to get his day. He'll go hurdling during the summer.

Lynch & Solo Performer a great combo

Andrew knows this horse well and always rides him in his work. He rode him here on Sunday in a bit of work and thought he'd nearly win tonight. Andrew is a hard worker and a good rider.
