Slan Abhaile says goodbye to her rivals
We haven't been running much lately and have just been very patient with the two-year-olds, the fillies are better than the colts. She's very immature and we've given her as much time as we possibly could. I have a couple entered over the weekend and we'll hopefully start running the fillies now. She's nice, she showed plenty of speed and Colin was very impressed with her. He hasn't ridden her much at home so he was pleasantly surprised. I said to Colin 'you lost your sat nav — you were all over the shop!' He was very impressed with her, she was still green pulling up and she'll improve plenty for it. She's a nice filly.
Never Ending Story writes her winning script
I'm delighted with her. She had a lovely run the first day and stepping up to seven today she was very happy, even though they went steady enough. Ryan was delighted with her. Dean (Gallagher) rides her out every day at home and he felt that she had really come forward.
Lyons and Keane double up with Mutasarref
His trip is seven furlongs, he didn't get the trip the last day and was a bit unlucky in Cork,. All roads lead to Champions Weekend. The whole journey with this horse is about Eleanora (Kennedy, owner), it's her first time in racing and he's won twice for her this year when she's been in town. That's the most important thing, for him to win when she is here to see him.
Camorra makes it three on night for Lyons and Keane
We love this horse and he's one of the yard favourites. He's gorgeous physically, he has really matured. He's no good without blinkers. He surprised us last summer when he won on Champions Weekend on top of the ground because we always thought he was a soft ground horse, a typical Zoffany. We do okay with our Zoffanys. We were sort of protecting him with the Ebor in mind and then this came around. The first text I got was from David Spratt and it said 'Melbourne Cup', he just hates Ireland — he just wants to travel!. We'll tell him to get his visa sorted and go on but he'll be on his own. I'm happy where I am. He's done fantastically, I never look at what I'm up against and I knew he'd run well. It's a Group 2 but we don't put them in it just to turn out. David and I will discuss plans over the weekend, he's a nice horse.
Common Practice wins thrilling Apprentice Derby
He hit a little flat spot off the turn but he finished off well,. We were a little bit worried about the trip coming here but he looked like he hit the line strongly.
Dunum completes his hat-trick for Lupini
Wayne gave him a brilliant ride as always,. He was in good form so we decided to enter him. It's great to have a runner here let alone a winner. I'm delighted for Maurice (Burns) as he bred him as well. He had two wide draws on his last two starts. He had improved at home and we thought we had a bit more in hand today with the good draw. We can drop him back to seven furlongs or a mile, maybe on softer ground. The good ground helped him a bit as well today to stretch out over a mile-and-one.
Irish Cesarewitch target for Maze after Curragh win
It was a generous gallop and I think he enjoyed that. That might get him qualified for the Irish Cesarewitch, we are all looking forward to that as it's huge prize-money that they have here. He might go to Galway in the meantime for the two-mile-five handicap hurdle on the Saturday or the amateur race on the Monday.
