Sweet looks smart for Browne
She ran very well on her first run in the Junction (Tipperary) and still didn't look fit at Navan, when she looked heavy and ran well to a point but the flat track suited today,. We were hoping for a good run, she is a very well bred filly and she'll probably get a hike in the handicap now. I hope she is a black-type filly.

McCreery's filly gives Crosse a double
she had good form, was the highest rated filly in it and Nathan gave her a lovely controlled ride. I took the visors back off her today and after her last race I threw her out for three weeks and she didn't get a drop of rain for three weeks. It was her first time on proper fast ground today and she hopped off it and had her ears pricked the whole way - I loved the way she did it. She has natural speed, which is very hard to train and I told Nathan not to take that away from her. I targeted this race as she has Listed placed form and we bred her and have a full sister at home. We weren't getting enough for her in the sales and Maurice Burns, who looked after her, said not to let her go for under €30,000 and we didn't. Amanda is happy out and is after ringing just now — a happy wife is a happy life!
Frenetic back on track on better ground
The wheels are definitely back on the bus. She ran first time out here this year and the ground came up soft but we thought we'd run her to take the freshness off but as we know in hindsight, it was totally the wrong thing to do. We brought her home and said we'd wait for high-summer when we're not guessing with the ground. It is a fair ask carrying 10st against older horses and was a Group performance. Her work has been telling us she could run in a handicap. We're absolutely chuffed and she's in all the early closing races - the Flying Five and races like that.
Siskin's sister give Lyons Cork double
That was of the utmost importance as she is a half-sister to Siskin so it was great to get another bracket with her. Ger was blaming himself for starting her off this year over an extended trip rather than starting her at the mile and working up but to be fair, we were all shouting about her wanting a trip. She is coming back to herself and that ground and a good honest gallop suited her. Hopefully that will give her confidence and the utmost important thing is to get black-type, that's what we'll be searching for. We'll run her at a strong mile and won't fix something that isn't broken.
