Pepsi makes experience count in juvenile hurdle
Effernock Fizz credits Cian Collins with first winner under rules
that's my first winner and I'm delighted. Darragh gave her a great ride and she is a very tough mare who stays well. I thought the ground could be gone for her but we got away with it and the rain stayed away. I have her a month, I'm delighted to get that first win out of her and she'll keep going. I have 25 or 30 horses and a good few of them are young horses for next year. I'm based between Trim and Navan and rode as a jockey but got injured. I broke my back so had to pack it it but I'm happy enough with the training now.
Rexem scores for McConnell & Harvey
he is a lovely horse, we've liked him a lot but it has taken a couple of runs to figure him out. He is a real stayer but can quicken off a good gallop and is sharp. He jumps great, is always there when you need him and has done everything we've asked him to do. I'm very excited to see how far he progresses as he has done everything at his ease. He won his point-to-point on nice ground and I'd say he wants nice ground — it is getting into it out there and I wouldn't like to see it any softer.
Jon Snow completes across the card treble for Willie Mullins
Landers rides second winner since return from injury
he was very good, was straightforward out in front and kept galloping away to the line. He got in tight to the final two fences but was clever enough over them. Hopefully he can win again in that grade.
Carnet De Stage completes Killarney double for Darragh O'Keeffe
we took him to Listowel last September and fancied him but he finished fourth and we then took him to Downpatrick and he won. He has been disappointing in between times, was on and off for the winter but was on fire today. The lads are from Listowel and Listowel is where we were aiming as (owner) Kevin O'Callaghan owns the hotel in Listowel and the Cliff House Hotel in Ballybunion. He is going there next and there is a similar race for him there.
Dads Lad makes it four on the day for Willie Mullins
he was always a very good work horse but was disappointing on the track. He has got his confidence now and chasing seems to have improved him. Brian (Hayes) gets on brilliant with him and for a cheap horse, he has now won five in a year. It's great as he handles soft ground as well. We might have the option of going back over hurdles from bottom weight and I was kicking myself we hadn't put him in the big handicap hurdle today. There might be another race like that for him at Listowel and he is very versatile.
Next Week causes 33-1 surprise in Killarney Bumper
I'm 18, from Killenaule in Tipperary and have been with the Slatterys since I started secondary school at weekends and am full-time with them now. The ground at Roscommon was too soft for him and they didn't go much of a gallop but we went a good gallop today. I'm delighted. he is an improving horse and improved a lot from the first day. We were very happy with him. He ran very well in Roscommon and with natural progression we thought we'd be placed. To win was a little surprise but he had been working well at home and doing everything well. Joe Bolger is a new owner who has come to the yard a couple of months ago and I'm delighted to get him a winner on only his second runner for us.
