Jockey Cathal Landers partnered a second winner since his recent return from injury, steering the Eric McNamara trained Meehall (14/1) to win Killarney's Owens McCarthy Claims Handicap Chase today.

Landersgot missed May, June and July with a recurring shoulder injury and got off the mark for the new season at Tramore five days ago. Today he made all on Meehall, which survived errors at the final two fences for his win over runner-up Zalika

Winning trainer McNamara wasn't present and later Landers said “he was very good, was straightforward out in front and kept galloping away to the line.

“He got in tight to the final two fences but was clever enough over them. Hopefully he can win again in that grade.”
