Duplication doubles up at Dundalk
he had a bit of a break and he had a good run the last time so he probably improved a little bit from it. He has a little look when he gets there but did in nicely and I'd said if something had came to me he might have gone on again.
Marnane's Freescape upsets fav' at Dundalk
he is a lovely horse but is also a big green horse. To me he will keep improving as he's huge but he's well matured and he'll certainly be a very nice horse next year. If he gets a run he'll go for the Sales Race at the Curragh (Tattersalls Ireland Super Auction Sales Stakes) - hopefully he will get a run.
Endeavour moves Keane further clear
we took a gamble dropping back to six and it paid off. We knew with the likes of Geological in the race they'd go hard so it would be a good true run race and if he was able to lie up with them he would kind of be the class horse of the race. Hopefully that will give him a bit of confidence because really the handicapper has him. He has been hard on him as he's ran all year and he hasn't dropped him. We had to drop him back to six to try something else. It worked as they've gone hard and he loved that surface. He said they went hard but he came into his own at the furlong pole. We'll look at those six furlong races up the Curragh if it's not too slow.
Feane & Halpin land Dundalk feature
it's good to get there with him as he was a bit unlucky in Cork. I got a bit confused after Cork (over 1m4f) as we ran in couple of races that sort of suited but I don't think he stays the extended mile-and-a-half up the Curragh. He doesn't have the stamina for it. They went a little bit slow today and quickened and fortunately he got his head down at the right time. The owners are delighted and that's the main thing and it's a nice prize to get. We've been beaten in three or four of these this season so it's nice to get one.
Shot gives English first winner from new yard
He's been a frustrating little horse and he just needs everything to fall right,. Today he was in great conditions and Oisin gave him an absolute peach. Gaelic Bloodstock picked him out for me and that's the third one they put me into that has won. They definitely know the time of day. They bought me few more in July so hopefully there are a couple more gems in among them. I'll have a chat with Cathal but I'd be inclined to come back here for the winter and give him a break. He goes so well here. On his last run he was third, only beaten a length, and things just haven't been right since. It's my first winner from the new yard as well so it's great to get up and running. It's great to get up and running for Cathal as well as he's a great supporter. Any horses that handle this we're putting away for the winter, that's the aim. Moving yards in the middle of the Flat season is never ideal so we are only getting up and running now.
Grace too strong for hotpot Hence
She's a lovely filly. Looking at Aidan's fillies' first run and the confidence behind her coming into the race I thought I was going to have to play second fiddle,. We've always thought a lot of her and the nice ground is the key to her as she has a lovely action, she has no knee action. She's a fine big quality filly and anything she does this year is a bonus. We don't know where we are going to go with her next. Today was the big job, to get her maiden out of the way, and she's done it well. Pat really likes her. She has an entry in the Moyglare but I wouldn't imagine an ease in the ground would be to her liking. We'll see how she comes out of it and make a plan from there.
Godolphin's Betty Loch gains maiden win
she got her turn and in fairness to her she was due it because she's run some good races. The ground was a bit quick for her the last day and the surface has been riding a bit slower here so I'd say that helped her. She's genuine and straight-forward and we'll probably let her have a crack at a handicap again now. It's nice to get a bracket with her.
McAllister's Bien Chase wins Dundalk finale
I had him entered up in Galway but he didn't get in and I also had him entered up two or three other times. He works very well around here so I fancied him there. We'll see what's coming up in the next week and try and get him in again. Touch wood we might get another one. I'd be keen enough to keep him going during the winter but we'll see. We'll see what comes up in the next while and if there is nothing we'll give him a break.
