The Stewards interviewed Mr J.W. Kenny, rider of Crutches Lad, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr J.W. Kenny was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. The Stewards interviewed Mr C.M. Healy, rider of My Oakclahome, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr C.M. Healy was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency and R10(3)(i) by failing to allow his mount at least three strides to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Mr C.M. Healy for 3 racedays
Mr R.W. Barron, rider of Different Spot trained by E. Bolger, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount hung left, lost his action when racing down the hill and was pulled up.
