The Stewards enquired into the circumstances surrounding the non arrival of Mr J.C. Barry, the declared rider of Macs Legend, which led to a request for a change of rider to Mr. J.W. Hannon. Evidence was heard from Mr. J

Prendeville, representative of the trainer, who stated that Mr. Barry had been booked to ride the horse. The rider had however rang the trainer this afternoon to inform him that he would not be attending the meeting as he was riding at a point-to-point and would not make it to Downpatrick on time. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the request of Mr. J.W. Hannon, to substitute for Mr. Barry on Macs Legend, but considered the excuse offered to be unacceptable and imposed a fine of ?400 on the rider

The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Clondaw Frisby, trained by J.G.Cosgrave, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame and to have a grazed fetlock

The Stewards interviewed Mr N.T. Prendergast, rider of B C's Pride, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards found the rider in breach of Reg. 10. 3(f) and having taken his previous record into account, cautioned him.

A steeplechase for Certified Hunters five yrs old and upwards that have not won more than one Steeplechase confined to Certified Hunters and that have been placed first, second, third or fourth in a Certified Hunters Steeplechase or in a Point-to-Point Steeplechase in Ireland between 5th October, 2014 and 13th May, 2018
Weights - 5-y-o 11st 4lb; 6-y-o and up 11st 7lb; Mares allowed 7lb
Penalties - (to count from 1st January, 2016) Winner of a steeplechase 7lb extra; Horses that have won a *race other than (a) Farmers Races or (b) Certified Hunters Steeplechases.
