FormscanBy Tom Weekes - AODHAN MAY previously won a chase in 2023 and having progressed well over hurdles earlier this year, reverts to chasing with a 35lb lower mark. While pulled up on her latest chase runs of 2023, she has improved since then and is suited by today's conditions. Similarly, Desert Heather is rated 40lb higher over hurdles but disappointed badly over fences in August. That was her first run for 263 days though and while she will appreciate today's softer ground, nonetheless has something to prove. West Clare has a race-fitness edge, is suited by conditions and while he makes his chase debut, has point-to-point experience so can be relied upon. Hunt Museum showed some improvement in May although lacks a run.

She wins again! Only for it keeping raining she wouldn't have won and obviously the jump at the last helped. There needs to be 'heavy' in the going description for her and Philip (Byrnes, jockey) said after riding in the first race that it wasn't soft enough - but then it started raining again. We ran her in the summer initially and got handicapped on the wrong ground, but paid the price as she broke down. I thought we ran him a bit too early here last time after he had won in Limerick so we gave him a month off this time. We're doing a lot of flat work with him as he has an issue with his back. I've had a really tough week - I lost one of my best horses in training who got cast and broke a bone in his knee. I was put on RTE Investigates on Thursday and I've no idea why. A picture was taken off my promotional video on my website and put on RTE and I've no idea why. I'm hugely hurt over it. They (RTE) sent me a letter, but they sent a lot of trainers a letter and they listed out eight horses of mine that ended up there (Shannonside Foods) over the years. They were in my premises at one time. One was a mare that was with me 12 years ago and I haven't seen her in 12 years. Four others that have had foals for breeders since - nothing got to do with me. I'm hugely hurt over it. I think everybody in racing knows that there is nobody that cares as much as I do and I found it very difficult.
