FormscanBy Alan Magee - THE WALLPARK has progressed well this summer and is on a hat-trick after landing a valuable 2m6f here at the Festival meeting. The Gordon Elliott-trained gelding stays well and gets the vote in a race where the market will provide important clues. Fakir D’oudairies is a high-class gelding over fences winning four times at Grade 1 level but hasn’t run over hurdles in over five years while French Dynamite is also a smart chaser and won his last hurdle start but that was nearly two years ago. Lord Erskine has proved a tremendous dual-purpose performer for connections and rolled back the years when landing a valuable 2m handicap hurdle at the Dublin Racing Festival this spring, while Kings Hill steps up in trip and has a bit to do at the weights.
A hurdle for four years old and upwards that on or since 1st January, 2023 and at declaration have not been placed first, second or third in a Grade 1, 2 or 3 weight-for-age hurdle raceWeights - 4-y-o 10st 11lbs 5-y-o and up 11st Mares allowed 7lbsPenalties - Penalties (handicaps excluded) - to count from 1st January, 2023 Winner of a hurdle race 6lb extra Of two hurdle races 10lb extra

Quotes on The Wallpark (IRE)
We thought the step up in trip would suit him, he was very tough and I’m delighted for (owner) Fran (Mangan), who put his money down and bought him and is now getting his rewards. Beacon Edge also ran a great race under top-weight to finish fourth and the whole way through his career he has been a right horse, but is difficult to place. The winner is a horse on the way up and it was almost the toss of a coin for which one Jack would pick and there was nothing between them in the race. It was a nice pot to win and The Wallpark could now end up trying to qualify for a Pertemps Final at Cheltenham. Fran is actually down in Kerry playing golf today, so I’ll give him some stick over that! I’m delighted for him. After The Wallpark (IRE) finished 1st at Galway on Sat, 3rd Aug 2024 2m 6f Hcap Hurdle Yielding to Soft

Quotes on Kings Hill (IRE)
It didn't look the strongest race but that is always the worst race to watch! Off his Leopardstown run you'd have to say he'd win,. I have him entered up plenty since Leopardstown but was just waiting for nice ground and today's wasn't his ideal ground. He is a lovely honest horse and this is grand to get out of the way. Of course we would love to go to Cheltenham and the Supreme Novices is a month today, although today's performance wasn't good enough to win a Supreme. I wouldn't chance running him before it though. Tony Costello (consignor) mentioned him to me in Doncaster and in fairness to Paul Lyons, living in London, and Tom Quinn they bought him between them. After Kings Hill (IRE) finished 1st at Thurles on Tue, 13th Feb 2024 1m 7f Maiden Hurdle Soft to Heavy

Quotes on Fakir D'oudairies (FR)
He got a little lost around the turn and was galloping down the straight, but obviously the horse in front fell, although we were coming for a challenge anyway. I was very pleased with the performance and pleased with how he jumped and it sets him up nicely for the spring. He was giving away weight and I feel as he is getting older, it is taking a bit more work to get him there. He is a young horse, and over his career, has been fantastic and always runs his race. He tries and is a great horse to have in the yard. Today's race was a good one, they went a good gallop and it was a deep field so I'm very pleased. He will potentially go back to Ascot for the Grade 1 he won last year and then we'll look at the Ryanair Chase and Aintree. I suppose all those options will be left open. After Fakir D'oudairies (FR) finished 1st at Thurles on Sun, 22nd Jan 2023 2m 4f Chase Yielding

Quotes on Lord Erskine (IRE)
Darragh knows him well and was very good on him. I was a bit worried about the ground but Darragh said it was no problem. I could never get him into a good race with a light weight and it was the same on the Flat. He’d a proper weight on his back today and there was a good gallop which suited him. His (late) owner Jerry Nolan was a pure gentleman. I rode winners for him and having an owner like him, you couldn’t buy them. He was easy to train for. This place has been good to me as a jockey and a trainer. After Lord Erskine (IRE) finished 1st at Leopardstown on Sun, 4th Feb 2024 2m Hcap Hurdle Soft
