The draw the last day didn't help and while it didn't look as bad as it was, he was pushed wide and couldn't get in. He was already declared to run today and when Colin got off him he said to take our chance if rain came and Eva (Forde) was happy to run. We weren't over-confident with the ground as he wants it soft but he is an eight-year-old now and we won't mollycoddle him too much. He won the Ahonoora in 2019, the Cambridgeshire in 2020 and was rated 106 at one stage. He was a black-type horse and had been dining at the top table but is down in grade now. It worked out today thank God!

The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the run out of the dip involving Shigar, ridden by J. Kearney, placed sixth, San Aer, ridden by B.M. Coen, unplaced, and Cheers Again (GB), ridden by L.T. McAteer, unplaced, where it appeared Cheers Again had to check back after running short of room. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. Kearney stated that he maneuvred out to take a gap and was aware of Cheers Again on his outer
B.M. Coen stated that that he kept a true racing line and didn't contribute to the incident. L.T. McAteer stated that he was on his racing line and left numerous shouts to J. Kearney to make him aware of his presence but had to check back when his ground was taken. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found J. Kearney was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record the Raceday Stewards suspended him for 2 racedays
The Raceday Stewards requested a report from Gerard Keane, trainer as to the apparent improvement in form of Laughifuwant, placed first, as compared with its recent form. Gerard Keane stated that Laughifuwant is a very quirky gelding. He added that in todays race he had a good draw and the race was ran to suit. Having considered the evidence the Raceday Stewards noted the content of the report
S. Foley, rider of Walhaan, trained by Ciaran Murphy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was slowly away from then starting stalls
