FormscanBy Michael Graham - This looks a good opportunity for POLAR BEAR to get off the mark. He is the most experienced horse in the race and is best drawn in stall one. He has two decent runs in the book when not beaten far into third at Cork, and into fourth at Fairyhouse on his last start. Hilltop's Bear didn't get home over 7f on his first start at Down Royal. He was still in contention approaching the final furlong, though, so you can see the reasoning in dropping back in trip. Charming Lady finished a couple of places behind Polar Bear in sixth at Fairyhouse. She has a shot at prize money. Newcomer Evening's Empire could outrun her odds. She is a half-sister to a horse who won on his three-year-old debut. Kevin Manning is a good booking.
