The Guinness Galway Hurdle could be next on the agenda for Oneeightofamile who recorded his sixth career victory, and his third in the past nine weeks, when taking the Dermot Casey – Hire, Sales & Tree Services Hurdle under 7lb claimer David Splaine.
The dual purpose gelding struck the front after odds-on favourite Won In The Dark made a mess of the third last, and the 11/4 shot kept on well to beat veteran Powerstation (7/1) by two and a half lengths. The 4/5 favourite was another half length away in third.
Winning trainer John Kiely said: “He's in the Galway Hurdle but it will depend on what the handicapper gives him. To be honest I thought before this that he was high enough but we'll see how he comes out of this race.”
