Noel Meade reports Layfayette to be in great shape for the Group 3 Paddy Power Stakes at Leopardstown today, but expressed concerns over fast ground for his charge.

The six-year-old son of French Navy got back to winning ways in the Group 3 Royal Whip at the Curragh last month which earned him a ticket to the Bahrain International Trophy which is a $1,000,000 race on 17th November.

It is Leopardstown first, though, and the trainer said: "I couldn't be happier with the horse.

"Obviously, a little bit concerned about the ground being as dry as it is. I think the ground is not going to be rock firm, so hopefully that will be okay.

"We have committed to run and we will run.

"Very strong race - it is a Group 3 race with Group 2 and Group 1 horses.

"He'll go to Bahrain afterwards."

Irish Derby runner-up Adelaide River heads the market for this mile and a-half contest.
