Gowran doubles for Weld,Aga Khan & Smullen Trainer Dermot Weld, stable jockey Pat Smullen and owner the Aga Khan combined for a maidens double at Gowran today as Ezanak made a winning debut in the concluding Thomastown (C & G) Maiden. Smullen had the son of Sea The Stars racing prominently, led two furlongs out and in the end stayed on well to beat Radar O'Reilly. Weld, whose earlier winner was with Shamreen, later stated “he's a nice colt and had been working nicely. He was backward last year but has matured a lot, and hopefully that patience will pay dividends. "We'll find a winners of one for him in a few weeks. He'd not mind going up to a mile and a half as there is a nice bit of stamina in his pedigree." By Tom Weekes, quotes from Alan Magee
