Diesel wins a 1st as Orr excels It wasn't surprising to hear Noel Meade's "he gave her a wonderful ride," comment after Oisin Orr won on the Laurelmore Partnership-owned Sheisdiesel (breaking her maiden on outing number 12) in the Carrickdale Hotel & Spa Handicap at Dundalk. Orr was confident on the sweet-travelling daughter of Harbour Watch, he switched the chestnut inside to deliver her challenge from over a furlong out, and the 4/1 shot went on to beat Hailstone by three parts of a length. "She deserved that as she keeps turning up!" further reflected Meade. "The first day he rode her we had told him to be handy but he missed the kick and held her up. He came back in and said the right way to ride her is to hold her up. "Danny (Sheehy) maybe overcooked it a bit the last day but in fairness it was a maiden and I'd say the maidens are just too good for her. "That was a plan executed to perfection today. It's great to win with her. She's given them a good bit of fun as she wasn't a very expensive filly. "She'll probably run away here. She wants it fast all the time and she seems to go on that. She can't handle soft at all." (GC & EM)
