The winner, Max Mayhem (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ascot on 12 August 2023, where the gelding finished eighth of ten, beaten by 46 lengths over 1m4f in a Class 2 handicap.

On the run to the line, Andaleep (IRE), placed second, shifted slightly right-handed at the same time as Wadacre Gomez (GB), unplaced, shifted left-handed causing Savvy Knight (IRE), unplaced, to be momentarily short of room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Andaleep (IRE).
