An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 2 furlongs out when Iron Lion (GB), unplaced, ridden by Jason Watson, interfered with Tony Montana (GB), unplaced, ridden by P J McDonald.
Watson was cautioned for careless riding as he had misjudged the size of the gap between Knockbrex (GB), unplaced, and Tony Montana (GB) resulting in his mount making contact with the hindquarters of Tony Montana (GB) and briefly unbalancing that runner.
The Stewards found that for several strides thereafter there was jostling between Iron Lion (GB), which had become awkwardly placed close to the heels of Knockbrex (GB) and Tony Montana (GB), which had hung slightly left-handed before being corrected by its rider.
