The Stewards interviewed D.G. Hogan, rider of Eiri Na Casca, concerning his use of the whip in this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10.3(f) and 10.4, in that he used the whip with excessive frequency and without giving his mount time to respond and having considered his record, suspended him for three race days. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Air Command, trained by J.H. Culloty, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be lame post race(samples taken for analysis).
