The Stewards interviewed D. Porter, Authorised Representative for W.P. Mullins, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for West Burma in this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer's representative who stated that the failure to nominate before the designated time was due to a clerical error in the stable office and he wished to convey the apologies of the trainer for the error. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the nomination of Mr. P.W. Mullins at this time. They furthermore found the trainer in breach of Rule 195 & Reg. 3 and having taken his good record, in this regard, into consideration imposed a fine of ?200 on the trainer, through his representative. Mr. George McCourt, Acting Steward, did not attend this enquiry. The Stewards interviewed Kieran Purcell, trainer, concerning the failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Casadel Sol in this race. Evidence was heard from the trainer concerned who stated that he had endeavoured to secure the services of a number of Qualified Riders prior to the cut off time but for a variety of reasons had been unable to do so. Eventually he booked Mr. F. Maguire at 12.30pm by which time it was too late to nominate in the normal way. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the nomination of Mr. F. Maguire at this time. They furthermore found the trainer in breach of Rule 195 & Reg. 3 and having taken his good record, in this regard, into account imposed a fine of ?200. Mr R. Deegan, rider of Silverfort, trained by S.J.Mahon, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount stumbled, the saddle slipped and he was unseated. Mr R.P. Quinlan, rider of King Ned, trained by Ms Claire O'Connell, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount ran off the track and pulled up.
