Moving House wins dramatic claimer
Incrimination makes winning debut
it's brilliant that she's won at two as when Maurice left her with Ger he said 'she's a two-year-old winner' so it's great that he was justified saying that. her work at home suggested that she would win her maiden up here and it's brilliant for Maurice (Regan, Newtown Anner Stud), who bred her and has always liked her. She's not the biggest filly in the world and it took her a little bit of time to get here strength-wise. We'll see how she progresses now after that and hopefully she'll fill out physically. We'll take it step by step but it's massive that she's got her maiden as she has a very good pedigree.
Pandemic winner at Dundalk
I'm delighted with that, she's been progressing and I'm thrilled for the owners (Kingdom Thoroughbred Syndicate) who are great supporters of mine. I've a feeling there might be another one or two in her and Sean (Davis) agrees. She's been finding her feet in the last few runs and is steadily progressing. If she didn't idle there I think she would have been a reasonably impressive winner, as she put the race to bed well. Five or six (furlongs) is her trip.
Well-backed Mulgrave wins for McConnell & O'Connor
we thought he'd run well as he had been working well but we were a little bit worried about the trip (a mile). He had shown form at different trips but probably this intermediate trip suits him lovely and the tongue-strap helped him. He's a nice big horse and he's probably only coming to himself. Hopefully we can have a lot more fun with him over the winter. He'll probably be knocked out of the 45-65s now.
McConnell completes double with Aga Khan bred filly
that's brilliant - she's not very big and neither is the jockey! I'm delighted and she got a good ride from Siobhan, who was very strong on her. She said she ran all the way to the line against a decent enough horse for that bracket.
Desert delivers following 'dumbfounding' debut
he's a grand horse and I liked him a lot all along. I ran him at the Curragh and often a horse would disappoint you but I was absolutely dumbfounded. Ronan (Whelan) came in and said 'I've never rode a horse that got as much stage fright' and said he completely and utterly lost his life. we brought him along and he loves that good surface. He was asleep floating around there today and Ronan said he'd better pick him up and when he did he got there a mile too soon. He ran around and he's very green but has the makings of a lovely horse. He has a great mind, a lovely action and that (1m2f) is probably a good trip for him. I'd say there is a lot of improvement in him. He's on the market. We bought ten horses in a syndicate and nine of them are gone. He's the last of them and they were all horses we bought to sell on.
Apprentice Clarke rides third winner
huge credit goes to Willie Byrne (jockey) who stepped in last time as Conor was sick and in fairness to him, he said he just lengthens and lengthens and to step him up in trip. I'm thrilled for Conor and hopefully it'll kickstart him again from here and he can motor on. This horse is very versatile, he's honest and it's grand when they handle it up here. We'll look at something similar and see how we fare.
