The Starter reported that Harry Bentley, the rider of the winner, Time Change (GB), had originally entered the wrong stall.
The rider and Starter were interviewed.
Harry Bentley’s explanation that he was lead into the wrong stall by the stalls handler was accepted.
Approximately a furlong and a half out, Mutaabeq (IRE), placed second, hung marginally left despite the riders best efforts, causing slight interference to Mubariz (GB), unplaced, who was heavily eased, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Mutaabeq (IRE).
Following the race, Dane O’Neill reported that Mutaabeq (IRE), placed second, hung left, Jason Watson reported that Mubariz (GB), unplaced, lost his action after suffering interference; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
