Sweeps wins sprint for Novice
I don't know what to make of that but he's going in the right direction all the time,. He was very lucky not to get carried out at the second. We'll have to wait for another day to see how good he is. We'll wait and see how he comes out of this. He's a lovely horse. We wouldn't have liked to be front for the whole race. Davy Russell had set out to make a good gallop but his horse didn't agree with him at the second and he was looking for a lead afterwards. There was nothing they could have done. He overjumped the last a bit and landed flat-footed but quickened up well after.
Alou rewards punters at Punchestown
He deserves that. I've been trying for nearly two years with him,. On his last three runs he's just happened to meet good horses. He was unlucky at Listowel last time but was just beaten by a better horse on the day. I might just give him a break until after Christmas now as he's been in all summer. I'll wait and see how he comes out of this. But he handled that ground well today so I don't know for certain.
Shinrock battles to success on hurdling debut
It's nice to get that out of the way - you're always worried about a small field,. He wants a better test of stamina. We didn't want to make to make it all today but once he gets his head in front I don't mind. We'll look at a novice at Cheltenham as he won there last year and it might give him a bit of experience for March. There is also the Barry and Sandra Kelly Hurdle at Navan (December 13th). I think he is more of a stayer. We said we'd start him over two and take it from there. What impressed me most today was his jumping.
Brady puts on show after Takestan victory
A change of tactics today! I told John to ride him like a non-trier, not to come out of the pack until the last,. He wasn't seeing his races out but finished today. He'll be some horse to come up the hill in the Vincent O'Brien (at Cheltenham).
Finnegan too strong for Jered
He ran a race before the start even!. I always thought a lot of him but he was off for two years with a leg problem. He won a point-to-point first time and two nice hurdles. He dictated from the start although that wasn't the plan. I was just afraid he might not see it out through lack of fitness. Hopefully he'll improve and he's a decent horse. I'm happy to stay around that trip with him. On soft ground I don't think he'll get much further.

Bill lands gamble in bumper
She was idle and it'll be the making of her - it was tough,. We'll go for a mares winners of two bumper with her now at Navan. That will probably bring her on a good bit.
