Oliver Brady was in fine voice as he held court in the winners' enclosure at Punchestown following the victory of Takestan in the two-mile handicap hurdle.
The gelding was produced with a late charge by John Cullen to lead on the run-in and score by two-and-a-half lengths from Stretch The Truth
"A change of tactics today! I told John to ride him like a non-trier, not to come out of the pack until the last," said Brady afterwards.
"He wasn't seeing his races out but finished today. He'll be some horse to come up the hill in the Vincent O'Brien (at Cheltenham)."
Brady also had news of Champion Hurdle hope Ebadiyan: "He'll be out in about two weeks. I thought I might have had him ready for the November handicap but he's just a bit short."
