Bodhi off the mark in Navan opener
He is (going the right way) and he hit the gates well there today again. He won well and was a long way clear of the third. He should be a better horse next year.
McCullagh times it well on Rosato
I really fancied her the last day in the Curragh and she just ran very flat. Today I got on her in the ring and she was alive, she carted me to the start and I knew we were in business. Fillies this time of year - hit and miss, but today was a hit day!. He (Joey Sheridan on Iva Batt) got a right lead, but I thought from before it was a bit of a short runner and I might get him. My one ate up the hill, so we got there. Everything worked a treat, I needed a target. It takes a bit of getting and we were well drawn. I ride a lot of work for Charles and I'm very appreciative.
Stack doubles up with Theory
She's tough, she is honest and she put her head down and battled. She got her turn. She had a good run here first time behind Camille Pissarro. This one is against the head probably. It helps (O'Sullivan's claim), she was getting nearly a stone off the colts which makes a big difference. Horses run for him. He is a nice kid and I know his father well - his dad worked for my dad, so we go back a long way. He comes in on school holidays and things, and is a good, hard-working, grounded, young fella.
Clover bounces back to open account
I am delighted with that because I don't know what happened the last day. She has never run a bad race and we said ' what has gone wrong?'. We just drew a line through it when she came home and we found nothing wrong with her. We gave her two or three days off and she came back to herself again. We always thought she would have her maiden won by now, but she is nicely handicapped so we will go for a handicap at the start of next year. I don't think there is much left for her (this year). Gary gave her a great ride - he is with me 13 years.
Steel strikes again in Blackcastle Handicap
The run at Bellewstown has really brought him on as we gave him a break over the summer as he doesn't like the hard ground. Bellewstown brought him on and he is back in good form. We just thought the rain might not have come for us, but enough came - it is yielding. This race was the plan after Bellewstown, he won this race two years ago. Rory gave him a great ride up the inside and he did it well. He might run the last day in the Curragh.
