Sonapour gets the rub of the green
that was great., before adding .they (the hurdles) are there to be jumped. I'm not sure where he'll run next - he might go to Galway for a winners' of one but he needs good ground. That's my second winner for Chris Jones . Lapse of Reason was my first for him at Fairyhouse last year.
Red Calima blows away rivals
all in all he has been a bit of a disappointing horse . he won a Leopardstown maiden for John Oxx but he didn't materialise into what we thought he would be and that's why he is running during the summer. He has a mark of 115 which is probably fair enough. We went for this maiden hurdle, as opposed to the other four year old one, as this looked a weaker race.
Primroseandblue justifies favouritism
we thought he'd do that as he is a 130 rated horse. He is a fantastic jumper . he'd jump around in the Champion Hurdle if he was good enough! I'd imagine he'll go chasing sooner rather that later and I think he is better on good ground.
Power back in the winner's enclosure
I had three point to point winners this season but my horses were sick during the winter so i didn't have many runners on the track. Misty Weather is very consistent and straightforward to train and we expected her to go close. Thankfully she got her head in front and she'll get a little break now and then we'll make plans.
Blaze scores for Carberrys
that was a good win and he did it well. The problem was he didn't battle before, but you couldn't say that about him today. He previously had a habit of putting his head in the air and not giving 100% but he probably didn't like heavy ground either. He was fresh and well in himself today.
Enright off the ground over jumps!
that's me off the cold trainers' list! . She was the first horse to be beaten by a 'nose' in Ireland (a bumper in Listowel) and she always jumped her hurdles like fences so we knew chasing was her game. She might go to Galway now and she likes good ground.
Geraghty shines aboard Undertheboardwalk
He (Barry Geraghty) was brilliant. What a man! That's why he has been champion jockey and has ridden so many winners.
Lavery times it well aboard Ourbeautifuldream
It's lovely to have a nice win in Wexford. She has a wonderful will to win and a tremendous heart. She might come back here again for a winners bumper in July before going hurdling. She aims to please and always has a smile on her face. She is a mare that is happy to see you every morning. Her owners are Jim & Ann O'Neill and they have had lots of success (also own Our Girl Salley) and they have plenty of horses with us.
