Barry Geraghty produced Undertheboardwalk (10/1) with a brilliantly timed run to take the Slaney Handicap Chase for trainer Tony Martin.
As they turned into the straight it looked between Paddy O Dee and Coolharbour Breeze with the winner back in fourth.
However Undertheboardwalk closed up on the front pair at the last and then found a gap between them, staying on best on the run in to score by a length.
The 13/8 favourite Claragh Native also closed right up on the front pair at the last but had to settle for second at the finish under Paul Carberry for his uncle Arthur Moore.
Coolharbour Breeze finished a further half a length back in third at 7/1 for Bernadette Murphy with Paul Townend in the saddle.
The winner, who is a 6yo son of Dr Massini, was recording his third career success this evening having won his maiden hurdle at Roscommon last August and a hurdle at Perth also in August of last year.
Winning trainer Tony Martin said afterwards: "He (Barry Geraghty) was brilliant. What a man! That's why he has been champion jockey and has ridden so many winners."
