Soaring Monarch causes 50/1 upset at Limerick
I rode him in Dundalk last year, he is a big tall horse and is still a little bit raw. There was always going to be plenty improve and he handled that ground well and travelled into it well. You'd be happy with that.
Nutz gets Lavery off the mark
All my horses are taking a run. I can get them very fit at home but they need to go for a couple of scouts up the Curragh. If he had needed a run, however, I'd have been gutted as I felt he was our first real chance of getting a winner. He isn't dependent on that ground as he'll go on good or soft and he has matured so much mentally over the winter. He is a different horse to what we had last year and he has also furnished really well. . He is owned by a great syndicate, headed by Fran Kennedy who used to be Eddie Lynam's head lad. They are really sporting and are all on Zoom shouting!. Fran said we'll see what the handicapper does. There is a nice handicap in the Curragh but we'll see what mark he gets.

I'm delighted for John Twomey and his wife Maura, from Newtownshandrum in Cork, as they are as kind owners as ever had a racehorse. The horse had such a bad year performance-wise last year, I made an agreement with John to keep him as a lead horse and if he showed anything we'd try him for John again on the track. He is a lovely horse to have around the yard and thankfully John has stuck with him. He was relatively inexpensive (5,000gns in 2018) and while it was hard to see where we would go with him last year, John was keen to give him every chance and I'm very grateful. Ronan (Whelan) was very ballsy on him and is riding brilliantly. We'll look for another race in two or three weeks and we can now pick his races as he won't be liable for ballot next time.
Blackmore shines on Eagle to land first Listed success
That was a bit more like it and we have a bit of hope again,. I was very disappointed leaving Leopardstown on Sunday but I decided to leave the tongue-tie off today and he seems a happier horse, although he hung again today. He has taken a long time to figure out and I'd say we still have more to learn. The horse which made the running today was a big help getting him to relax. He'll be exciting going forward. He has schooled over hurdles and has schooled well so we have all options.
Shanroe strikes as Colgan lands brace
He is a very smart horse, always was. He won three bumpers and there were plenty of horses behind him in his bumpers,. I'd have been very disappointed if he was beaten tonight and I'd say he'll mix it between flat and hurdles now. He'd go 2m4f over hurdles but he just wasn't himself over hurdles last winter, he had a bad fall and it half knocked him. He could be a proper horse on the flat.
