Vinnie Supreme in Punchestown opener
It's a pleasure to be associated with him. This is my fifth year with him and year on year he's came out and won,. He's my star and he's more than a horse at this stage, he's part of the family at home. He got me going. He's had his problems but he's just so tough and versatile. He's won a bumper, on the Flat, over hurdle and fences. I'm sure if I had brought him point-to-pointing he would have ticked that off as well. Long-term this year were were hoping to get into the Galway Plate off bottom weight. I know he'd have to go up a nice few pounds. We said we'd come here to see if he could compete with the top ones and he did, he did it very easily. Please God he stays sound as there is a long summer there and we're really looking forward to him. Rachael has won five on him and she's brilliant with him. We're very lucky to have her and that horse loves her because he can be quirky when he wants to be. They are a good old match. I thought if we finished in the first four we'd be doing well and all credit to him.
Light holds off odds-on Robin
All he wanted was a bit of nice ground. He ran very well here at the festival,. He's had a good bit of practice on heavy ground. I was just waiting on good ground as he couldn't quicken up on that. On that ground he jumps brilliant and travels well. Two miles is his trip. He'll mix it between the Flat, hurdles and chasing. He's a bit like Neverushacon in that he'll go in every code. They (the Flyers Syndicate) are very lucky owners.
Abu takes advantage of Glenwood's mishap
I don't know when my last winner was! He did it well. I thought when he got sandwiched up a bit turning in, and Glenwood Forever got first run on us, that we were in trouble. I don't know if he had stood up whether we would have got to him or not. He does like something to chase though. I was afraid when Glenwood Forever fell that we were in front too soon as he does pull himself up a bit in front. Thankfully the loose horse helped us out a bit and in fairness to Donie he gave him a great ride and settled him lovely. He does run well fresh and won first time out last year in Kilbeggan. You're always a little bit afraid after a layoff coming back that you have them fit enough but thankfully he was.
Harrington doubles-up with outsider Conron
I've always thought he was a really good horse and I was dying to run him on the Flat but he's only rated 34 and I couldn't get him into anything. He was to run in Cork but he went ballistic in the box going down and trod on his shoe. He's actually still got staples in his forehead. I said we'd come here near home and he might get to the racecourse without committing suicide!. I schooled him last week and he jumped wonderfully but I had no idea whether he'd stay. He was ridden handily and made a slight mistake at the second last but Paddy said he was only getting going. Suddenly he just picked up. It's great for John O'Hagan as he has two horses with me and the other one is Charcor which finished third in a maiden at Tipperary the other night. I have no idea how good a race that was but we'll go for a novice now. He obviously loves good ground. I might put him into a Flat race also.
Pattern completes treble for Harrington
She just got bogged down in bad ground since she won her bumper,.; . It's nice to go and win her hurdle race there. We'll have a lot of fun with her during the summer and Robbie said she's got plenty of speed. We might run her on the Flat in a mile-and-a-half maiden. I have to speak to the owner yet though. It's been a great evening and I can relax now as I've no more runners.
McInerney doubles-up on Spring Watch
He's had his problems. We'll find another one like that somewhere and he could go chasing shortly,.
City Island takes the last for Brassil & Mulryan
He's a nice horse and he had a lovely run here first time so we were hopeful if he could reproduce that it might be good enough today,. He has a great attitude and stays really well. He's had a couple of spins round in schooling hurdles and he jumps well so he's ready to go jumping whenever. He likes a bit of good ground. The owners like to have runners at the summer meetings so he might go to Galway for a hurdle. He's a nice type of horse to have, he has a good pedigree and you wouldn't know what he'd do. He's a big staying type.
