Mr Kieren Buckley, the rider of Mauna Kea (IRE), had appeared to complete the course with the other runners, having pulled up.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the race, his explanation that having turned into the straight his mount suddenly took a strong hold meaning he was unable to prevent it from passing some of the back markers was accepted.
Following the race, Mr Kieren Buckley reported that Mauna Kea (IRE), which was pulled up, hung left- handed throughout.
