Sacrificial gets a deserved win to his name
He was recently gelded and just needed the op to make him think the way I wanted him to. Hopefully he'll progress. He blew up a bit two out which I would expect all mine to. I wanted to start him over a mile. He'll definitely go a mile-and-a-quarter at some stage but we won't rush into it.
Rock wins the Heritage for Weld & Smullen
It was a pleasing performance from him. He's very adaptable in that ground,. He'll probably come back here for the Amethyst Stakes (May 10th). He got a little bit tired in the last half furlong which I expected. He's up a good few kilos on last year but equally he has matured from last year. Hopefully he'll have a long and successful season. We'll look at races between a mile and a mile-and-a-quarter. He had a busy year last year and raced on very fast ground. He was a bit stiff and sore after the Irish Derby so we said we'd leave him off until next year.
Aloof turns out to score again
.She's tough. She did it easy there. They went flat to the boards and she loved it,.
Corbata gets Oxx off the mark
He went up 2lb over the weekend (after Stormfly won) so we decided to run before he had to carry it. Soft ground isn't a requirement for him. I'm sure they'd all prefer it better than that as it's gluey today. He's been very consistent and could go up to a mile or run over six on soft.
O'Brien back in business on Holbein
Ringside follows up for Bolger & Manning
She wouldn't have won much with the 9lb and the 4lb (she had in hand) was a help. She's fairly versatile trip-wise. I was hoping she'd win last time but I thought after she jumped out it had gone. She's improved a lot since last year and is in again at Navan on Saturday.
Mistiness just holds on to beat Diesel
It was great front-running ride. He's always shown a bit and ran well here in a maiden. He didn't face the blinkers on his last start last year. He got it easy in front today and made the best of his way home. I thought he was beaten.
