Dundalk's opener won by Comer's outsider
The Shadow Lingers showed us lots, but he is very green. I thought Easy Way (fifth-placed stablemate) with his experience, might just get the better of him today, but he has plenty of raw ability. He's just so green and that's what I was a bit afraid of. We are delighted to get him here and we'll see how he comes on from that.
Riyami registers a third winter win
Fifth Dundalk win for Theriverrunsdeep
she's good, that's her fifth time winning for me. She is consistent and is a good one. Seamie gave her a good ride out of the wide stall, he said he got a lovely lead off No Speed Limit all the way and she found plenty off the bridle. She likes it up here, will be kept going here and there's a six furlong finals' race, if she could get into that. We have only three for the track, but have a lot of pre-trainers.
Andalusian Star justifies strong favouritism in maiden
she was very green as you can see - I just had to keep her up to her work the whole way. It is not ideal sometimes when they are that green and you have to make the running. I felt like she was the best in the race and she went on in the final furlong, and was only just doing what she had to do. I always felt I had them covered, but it was just a case of keeping her up to her work and keeping her straight. She has galloped out through the line well and she is definitely a filly that is going to progress a lot from that. It has been a while, so it is nearly like her first time up again.
Dead-heat called, as just a head separates Dundalk trio
It was a close call at the line and I'm delighted we got our head in front again - obviously sharing the spoils with Jamie. I got rolling plenty early and my filly stays very well and is tough. it probably suited my lad the way the race unfolded. I was able to get rolling early, he took a bit of time to get into gear but, to be fair, passing the furlong pole he was in top gear and he hit the line well.
Browne McMonagle completes Dundalk treble
that is mighty altogether and I'm delighted to get a win out of him. He's a good honest horse and in all fairness to Robbie Burns (previous trainer), he came to me fit. I did nothing only keep him ticking over since I got him. He had a great run the last day when an eye-catcher in a claimer. Dylan actually said that 1m4f is the minimum for him, he reckons two miles would suit and the further he goes, the better. I'd say if he comes back here he will go up in trip. I bought him basically to go hurdling as I think he'll make a smashing hurdler. He loves that surface and will be a real summer horse over hurdles. We might move him on (sell) again down the line.
Kennedy rides third consecutive winner for McConnell
he's (Keithen Kennedy) not making too many mistakes on my ones and in fairness, the horse had come down a lot in the weights. He had lost his way a bit and has had some physical issues - they have been holding him back. He ran well here the last day although we weren't sure about the surface, as he only ran once before that here and ran badly on his first ever run for me. The lads (No More After Hours Syndicate) have been very patient with him, so I'm delighted for them. It opens it up for us and he is also handicapped over hurdles, so he will probably go summer hurdling as well. I wouldn't say he is a horse that would love to be here every week.. He's a real honest trier of a horse so, if we can keep him right, there should be fun to be had with him.
McConnell completes concluding races Dundalk double
Yokkell is super and would nearly make you emotional. She's just very genuine and very tough. She's a winner. A mile-and-a-half is probably her trip and that extended 1m2f is just long enough. She doesn't owe us anything but you wouldn't know where she could end up on Good Friday, maybe at Newcastle. Hopefully, she can't be hit too hard by the handicapper. Siobhan gets on very well with her and gave her a peach of a ride just in behind the leaders. I think she knew from halfway down the straight she was going to get up. They are a very good team.
