False railing praised as Antiquus follows up
the rail worked well; I don't know why it didn't happen earlier!. she (Antiquus) was always so keen to get on with the job at home and that's why I wanted to drop her back in trip; she wouldn't settle. She did that so readily against quite efficient sprinters. Maybe like her full brother (stablemate Ancient Sands) she might win another one. She got quite a hike for her win the last time but she loves this surface and there's a race for her here again in a fortnight over six furlongs. Maybe after that we'll leave her off until the summer.
O'Brien sets early Speed with Dundalk double
he deserved that as he's been knocking on the door for a while. It's great for the owner (Michael Daly) who has supported me since I started. I'm delighted and it was a great ride by Joseph.
Impressive juvenile win from Quadrivium
he travelled around well and handled the surface. He's a nice horse, was still a little green and there's plenty of improvement in him; it's nice to get him started.
O'Brien on top with Dundalk treble
he's a right old lad! He wasn't right for a while but has been good enough again recently. I thought he'd win last week but he came from a good bit back. He is what he is now and it's hard to keep him sound; he's a bit like myself! As long as he's happy we'll keep him going though and hopefully he'll win another one. the false rails are a big improvement. You've a better chance of getting a run when before they were murdering each other. Mountain Coral got inured here twice and was out for two months on each occasion.
Senyuman scores for Halford & Foley
it's great to win with this filly; she won here earlier in the year and we'd a winner for the owner last weekend. She had a big weight and did well to carry it taking on her own age group.
Champion Jockey completes four-timer
he's a horse we always thought quite a bit of but had two wind operations in the summer and is only starting to come right now. He's in again on Friday and we'll see how he comes out of this. He ran well for a long way at Cheltenham last year and he'll continue to mix it between here and jumping.
First Friday takes finale at Dundalk
we nearly won the Laurels (greyhound race run at Curraheen Park in Cork) years ago and I threw my hat in the air thinking we'd won so I said I'd never do that again!. Seamie (Heffernan) said after he ran the last night to leave the blinkers off him and he has been a huge help to us and has advised us all along. It's a huge thrill winning with First Friday as we bred him and have had him since a foal.
