Longlegs is the Daddy
He went into the stalls grand the last day but just got a fright from another horse and got his leg caught in the stalls. He was grand when we brought him home, and did it well today.
Canyon defies top-weight in nursery
He's a game horse and gave his all. Being a Moss Vale we were worried about the ground but he's a lovely moving horse. We'll see what the handicapper does with him now but he could be Hong Kong bound as he ticks all the boxes and we have seen some interest from clients over there in him. Seven furlongs suits him well.
Priomhbhean is a tough lady
She'll probably be given a nice bit (by the handicapper) for that. She's been a while finding her form this year but has found it now. We'll try to find a bit of black type for her now before the year is out.
Bible Belt is in a different league
She surprised me the way she quickened up and left them for dead. On paper it looked a competitive Listed race but, when Shane gave her a squeeze two furlongs out, she just took off. She's entered up in the Dance Design Stakes and the Blandford Stakes at the Curragh, and also the Group 1 Champion Fillies And Mares Stakes at Ascot.
Longer trip suits Dubawi Star
We tried a new trip today and he stayed well, and the first time cheek-pieces also seemed to work well. He missed a bit of time with a bruised foot but we didn't intend leaving him off for so long, it just worked out that way. The handicapper will probably murder him now but we'll see what he does and maybe something like the Cambridgeshire could be a possible, although we may concentrate on nine to ten furlongs with him now.
Benson impresses on Times
I was just on the phone there to John O'Shea (the Irish soccer international). She'll run in his colours the next day as the papers didn't go through in time for today but he's delighted. She's had her problems.
Casey gains deserved winning bracket
That was a reward for Galway where she was very unlucky, although it was equally very fortunate that both her and Pat were okay. That's the first horse that Ronald Schor, a Florida-based businessman, has had in Ireland.
