Ball Girl sheds her maiden tag
It's horrible ground and she's learned nothing. She's dead honest and he kept it simple. She got very tired being out alone in front. We are in the winners' race at the Curragh this weekend. I thought we had to have an entry in it as it's a 30 grand race. We'll see how she comes out. The plan was that was just to be a piece of work to her tonight but the ground might have made it more difficult. We still have that as an option. We won't be in a rush stepping her up in trip. He (Colin Keane) said you would have no problem bringing her back in trip.
Ballot Box gets winning result in Roscommon
She's a tough, hardy filly. I think the ease in the ground probably suited her and she stayed every yard of it. She will go for another nursery, and they could have claimed her last week. We are lucky around here and it's going to be hard work on horses for the rest of the day. Anything that stays will get there.
Not A Bad Oul Day for Feane and Hogan
He was disappointing at Galway where things didn't go to plan. He's one dimensional and had things more his own way today. He stuck it out well.
Katie comes good for Hackett
That’s her third run for us and we are really only finding out about her now. She is leased till the end of the year and is a nicely bred filly. She can be a bit buzzy but if you keep the lid on her she will give you everything. She’s as honest as the day is long, and is really settling now which is great. She likes to be out in front and it worked out a treat today. Six or seven (furlongs) is her trip.
Jeremy brings Joy to Clarke in Oaks
She’s a good mare and we freshened her up as she got a muscle injury on her last run over hurdles. She loved the ground being by Jeremy. I’m delighted for PJ (O’Brien) who has three in the yard with me. She won the next race on tonight’s card when it was run at Sligo last year but I felt the Connacht Oaks would cut up and be a better option. I’m a genius now!
