Fairyhouse fences win for Imagine
it was a good performance, I was happy with him. I thought there would be plenty of improvement in him. Jack said he had a good blow going to the second last, he jumped well and he's not a bad horse. He looks like he could better over fences. We might look at something like the Craddockstown at Punchestown for him. He ran to a good level last year, he can go up a bit in trip and I'd say there is improvement in him.
Party for the Pot Hunters
McCaldin's ex-pointer defies top weight
he was very gutsy and he's a lovely horse. He lost his way a wee bit last year but hopefully he's back. We'll see what is coming up for him and look for something similar. He has a lot of experience; we were hoping he'd run well and Dillon gave him a brilliant ride. He doesn't usually handle that kind of ground so we're delighted.
Fairyhouse front-runner to target spring festivals
we've known for a while that she's a good hurdler, That's tough going out there and she'd be better on better ground - she'd be able to bowl along and show more. She's very quick and fast over them and we're going to have to give her a little break now but we'll probably head for Leopardstown at Christmas. We might even have a think about some of the spring festivals. She's after having a hard season so she definitely needs a bit of a break. we got away with it today out there; in an ideal world with a classy horse with her ability, you'd be better off on better ground. We'll steer clear of the bottomless, torturous, ground.
Ex-pointer An Tobar wins 'well'
he had a little bit of a setback last year so we had to ease off him but he's been doing everything nicely at home. He's a big horse and in the long run it might have been the best thing that ever happened to him, to give him a bit of time to develop and grow into himself. We're were hoping he'd go and do that today. we'll have a look at options but he'll be put into the Royal Bond (Grade 1 at today's venue) and there is also the 2m4f (Grade 2) at Navan so there are plenty of options. He does stay well so we'll see what Henry wants to do with him.
Gilligan returns with Fairyhouse winner
to be honest he'd probably have done more going around the gallop at home but it was a nice opportunity for him. He'll have an entry in the Lismullen Hurdle and we'll see what it's like. We'll stay over hurdles the next day anyway and then see where we are at. The way he jumps a hurdle he'll jump a fence. He probably wouldn't want a fence on bottomless heavy ground though.
Duggan ends long wait for first win
McManus & Rothwell win Fairyhouse finale
he had been very disappointing last year but he came back fresh and well after a break. It was the strongest race in the world but it's lovely to get another winner in those colours. JP and his family have been very good to me, I have Weihnachts and this guy in training and Weihnachts has won a few. It's lovely to get this guy's head across the line because he had been a bit disappointing.
