Robbie [McCarth] gave him a grand ride and the seven pounds made all the difference. The horse likes the better ground and he's a great jumper so we'll keep him on the go throughout the summer on both the flat and over hurdles. We may look at something at Galway for him, he'll make a nice chaser in time.

The trip was probably a shade to short for him we'll probably step him up in trip now. He will probably go chasing sooner rather than later.

O'Connell and Lambe's good run continues

Eddie [O'Connell] is the strongest seven pound claimer in the country at the moment. The ground was spot on for him today. He has a superb pedigree, he lost his way a little bit during the Winter. He loves this type of ground and hopefully we'll pick up another one, he won a shade cosily today and he has the scope to go chasing. We will concentrate more in Ireland this year rather than take our horses aboard.

He's a hard horse to train as he's not easy to keep sound. He obviously likes the better ground which is surprising because he is a very heavy horse. We will keep him on the go throughout the Summer but we won't run him on very fast ground.

I only discovered at one o'clock we were getting in as he was second reserve and the box had already gone with my other runners so Martin Brassil very kindly brought him for us.
