The P & D Lydon Plant Hire Handicap Chase was claimed by the Charlie Swan trained Adajal under an inspired ride by David Casey.
Casey delivered the son of Zitizal to challenge at the last and under a strong drive by Casey the pair got up on the run-in to score by three parts of a length.
A delighted Swan reported afterwards: "He's a hard horse to train as he's not easy to keep sound."
"He obviously likes the better ground which is surprising because he is a very heavy horse."
"We will keep him on the go throughout the Summer but we won't run him on very fast ground."
