Prendergast celebrates birthday early with Profit
She's a nice filly, she ran very green and I'd say she should improve a good bit on that,. They didn't go any pace so he had to make it really. I think she's quite a good filly and she'll improve. She likes fast ground and there was a bit of a dig in it today. Hopefully before the end of the year she can get a bit of black-type. I'll have to talk to the owners (jointly owned with Jim Bolger) before we decide what is next.
Woman gets off the mark in style
It was very straightforward and she did what we expecting her to do. She was entitled to do that on her last couple of runs. She loves that ground. She's a work in progress and is still filling into her frame. She'll be a lovely filly for the backend and for next year.
Barnhill Rose stays at it to score under Rutledge
said Rutledge. She got into a lovely rhythm and I was kind of happy with how fast we were going for the likes of her who stays seven really well.
Manhattan Dandy off the mark at 43rd time of asking
I'm delighted for the syndicate as they have kept faith, well most of them!. He ran very consistently last year but just didn't get the breaks at times. The horse deserved it more than anything. He's kind of like a pet at home, he's a favourite. I'm delighted for the lads to get a win and hopefully he can build from this. It's never weight that's going to stop him, it's just his head. Hopefully now that he's got one he might keep going a little bit because he works like a decent horse. Hopefully this can change his mind a bit. The last day he was a bit wired before the race and ran no sort of race. We gave him a little break and freshened him up and it did the job.
Lyons and Carroll at double with Mr King
He's a lovely horse and it's a great family. He's just filling into himself and is a work in progress. We gelded him after his Gowran Park run and then ran him back quick. He's a horse that, mentally, has to mature - you could see him there in the stalls. That's the last time you'll see him over a mile-and-two. Gary said they just went too slow and he'll love a true-run race, which would suggest he'll like a better race, over a mile-and-a-half. We'll take baby steps with him, knowing the family next year is another year.
Soaring Monarch swoops in Roscommon
He's a nice horse and everything had been going well with him all year. Basil (Holian, owner) is from Galway so going on there is a bit of a plan with him. It was a good run and the step up in trip definitely helped him.
Moore one from one in Roscommon aboard Espionage
I thought it was a nice performance - there were a few things going on in the race and he has overcome them. I think he is a quality colt and stays well. This was a mile three and a half and he got that well. I'd say he would be very comfortable at anywhere between probably 10 and 14 furlongs. Aidan told me to come to Roscommon, simple as that! Delighted to come and it seems like a really good crowd here on a Tuesday night. Aidan's records are obviously unique now. They have been for a long time, he just keeps adding to the list. I don't think he is done, so plenty of time to talk about him!
