Masucci justifies favouritism in the opener
That was grand. He's a real nice horse with a future and the further he goes the better he'll be. As Colin said there he is still very raw and green. There is still plenty of improvement in him and I like the colt. There were plenty fancied in the race. A winners race is always the way forward for us unless a stakes race presents itself beforehand. I'd like to go for a winners race first as he's only half a horse at the moment.
Lady provides Tylicki with first Flat success
She's a lovely filly and very straight forward to train. She's been progressing all the time,. I also have her full-brother (Sirjack Thomas), a two-year-old colt, in training and he ran on Sunday. He's a lovely horse to look forward to. I'm absolutely delighted for the owner Noel Harten as the horses mean a lot to him. It's a good day today. That's my first winner on the Flat. I had to be patient but finally we got it and I'm absolutely delighted. We have plenty to look forward to. We've a lot of young horses coming along at home and one or two that stand out. I've a small team but I think we have some quality there that is yet to run.
Hasselnott scores on debut for Levins
We've loved him since the first day he set foot in the yard,. He's a big gentle giant and very genuine. He's never let us down in his canters and his work was pretty good. I'm delighted and delighted for the owner who is starting to put a lot of faith in me. I'm delighted to be able to repay him. It was a typical Donagh O'Connor ride and he was very good on him. He changed his plan with the draw, took his time and got a bit of cover. He kept him up to his work and he done it well in the end. We've no plans going forward but we like the horse. I claimed him for E12,000 and was a bit worried because I thought it might have been enough at the time but he looks cheap now.
Double for Lyons & Keane as Pose wins again
It was very similar to what Colin said about the first one, she was clueless when she hit the front and she would have needed it like we thought,. We said going out that we'd ride her like it's her first run as opposed to her second as she had so much time off. We had to bring her back from scratch. He said she was completely clueless, doesn't want any quicker ground than that, but she's a lovely filly and you wouldn't have any problem bringing her back to a mile. She's a nice one but we've always trained her with next year in mind. I don't imagine that we'll do too much more with her this summer. Hopefully next year she becomes a stakes filly for the owner. We'll talk to Patrick (Cooper) when we get home but I can't imagine we'll overdo her this year.
Fire comes from last to first under Davis
Manning & Bolger on the mark with Level
Little fish are sweet. He's 16'2hh and will make a lovely three-year-old hurdler. He's in tomorrow night. He'll have another day whether it's for me or someone else.
Double for Manning as Pearl battles gamely
That was good and very important for us as we've very few for the Flat. It's nice to get a little bit of luck as you don't get much of it. I'm delighted for Martin Cullinane (owner) as he took what happened in Limerick well and he deserves that. The last day he got trapped in and had to make a move and they moved as well which looked dramatic. It's unfortunate because if he had waited a fraction the gap would have come. When you have a missed opportunity like that there is pressure next time and she beat a good filly from a top yard today. She stays well and if you go through her form she was always going to be a good filly. There was a horse in behind her that won here today. On her first run on Champions weekend she stood in the stalls and let them off but finished strongly. I don't think she's ever run a bad race for us. It's only when she's stepped up in trip that the best has come out. She's had two quick runs and we'll see what Martin wants to do now. I'll give her an entry in the Munster Oaks to have her in there and see where we go from there.
