Lavery back amongst the winners at Dundalk
I think an awful lot of this horse. He got a really bad infection after he won in Fairyhouse and we had to hit him with antibiotics. I think it left a mark as it's taken me a long time to get his bloods right. He still wasn't 100 percent right when he ran in the Curragh but I think I'm back on the road now and I'm delighted with that. We'll see what the plan is now and we might get a call to sell him. John sent me off to buy yearlings and I think I bought more than he bargained for! That's why we had Sevenleft in the claimer (finished second and was claimed), we just have to lighten up (with numbers). I do think a lot of this horse, and he'd be one you'd love to hang on to, but we have to be realistic and if we get a decent offer he'll have to go.
Carroll's Christmas comes early with winning 'spare'
we're delighted with that. Ideally he wants an extra furlong and we were just worried about the trip today but there are no races coming up so we had to run him in that 0-80. He'll be a nice horse on the turf for next year over a mile and eventually he'll get a mile-and-two no problem. Gary was very happy with him and said he's very genuine, that's half the battle. He said he thought he was going to get there nicely but he just evened out and it took him all day in the last half a furlong. That's just basically down to trip. We're happy to get the win before Christmas and next year he'll be a nice turf horse.

Tribal Path returns to winning ways
he's been so unlucky all year since we got him back but he's kept running consistently. He just wasn't seeing out the seven so we said we'd try him back over six as he was showing plenty of speed at home. Vanessa gave him another peach of a ride, kept in simple. She was taken on the whole way but I thought that would suit him as it would make it a proper test. I'm absolutely delighted. He's in on Friday and we'll see, he could come back. I was delighted with Lapilli's first run back for me as well, he finished fourth. He's in on Friday as well. They are in good form. We have eight in for the winter and that's four winners now. If we get another four that would be a good old winter.
Browne McMonagle wins Dundalk's finale
he did it well. He missed the break a bit but I let him travel away and got him nice and relaxed up the inside. I got a nice run up the inside in the straight and he won well in the end. They went very fast early on and I thought they were doing plenty where I was at. I said I'd sit in, take my time and it worked out. He was well handicapped and hopefully the handicapper won't be too sore on him now.
