The winners keep coming for Holdens
That was great. He had his trip and his ground today and Davy gave him a super ride,. He ran over two and a half the last day and the trip today suited better. I've no plan for him now, but he'll go over a fence in time. He might be suited by a big galloping track. The horses are flying now at the moment, so I'll just have to try and keep it up, hopefully I can.
Dodgy another for in-form connections
He loved the ground and jumped brilliant. He doesn't like when they get around him,. That was ideal, sharp track, jumped great, fast ground, four-year-old's only, bob's your uncle!. He might come back here again, wherever the ground is fast. If the handicapper takes it literally he will be in trouble, but I don't know how literally he will take it. He is a summer horse and we will keep going with him. He will probably have a run on the Flat somewhere as well, although jumping does seem to help him a lot. He never made one mistake today. It's nice to get a winner on the board at the start of the season. We just got clipped yesterday with Net D'Ecosse, another stride and he was up.
One For Derek at Ballinrobe
He done it alright, they went hard in front and he kept at it well,. He jumps very well, he is a very straightforward little horse and it's grand that he won again. He might go on the Flat now, there is a four-year-old handicap here the week after Galway and he might run in that. It depends on what Noel O'Brien (handicapper) thinks. He shouldn't go up much for that. He is only rated 60 on the Flat and he will go on most ground, he is very uncomplicated. There are plenty of options at this time of year for the likes of him.
Ballinrobe brace for Russell
I've had as many winners as Gordon (Elliott) this season anyway!.
Unlucky Champ can't catch Mist
He is in again at Downpatrick on Friday and all going well he will run there. He is a hardy horse, and he doesn't kill himself so he'll probably go to Downpatrick.
Sweetie back to form on top of the ground
This is her ground. She has come back to form on her ground again. I will take her home now and make a plan where to go,. I will probably put her in-foal now and then look for a race. I want to take her to Galway. She is a brilliant jumper, and never lets you down. In Limerick she just couldn't get out of the ground, but she is just an honest mare. She was getting a length at every fence. It's unfortunate for Robbie Colgan because I rang him to ride her, but he had a ride for David Broad (Definite Earl, ended up a non-runner).
Mahon and O'Regan rewarded in penultimate
I really fancied him at Fairyhouse, but he went lame behind. A horse struck in to him coming down from Ballyhack. He had a nice puffy joint after it, but he was sound two days later. I had him and he won a maiden hurdle. The horses weren't running well then and John (Rabbitte, owner) sent him to John Joe Walsh. He was always going to win when he came back to me! He likes the Galway air! . We will keep it simple with him, he is nicely handicapped. I have a nice lot of horses, probably the strongest team I've ever had for the summer campaign. It's onwards and upwards from here.
No stopping O'Connor as Angel blitzes 'em
