The Stewards interviewed C.A. Landers, rider of Cloudy Morning, concerning his use of the whip in the closing stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that the rider was in breach of Regulation 10. 4, in that he had failed to give his mount sufficient time to respond to the whip. Having taken his previous record in this regard into account, the Stewards suspended C.A. Landers for 3 racedays

An extended handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards rated 0-109 Penalties - Winner of a steeplechase after calculation of the handicap to carry 4lb extra for each such steeplechase won. Riders - Confined to Professional under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii). Allowances (which are not cumulative, up to and including 23rd March) who have not ridden the winners of 25 *races allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden the winners of 40 *races allowed 2lb No allowance to riders under Rule 52 (iii) may be claimed.
