The Dasher Conway wins Tipperary's opener
it has been a while since his last run, he has been improving all the time and it was good to get in today. He is a fabulous big horse, hopefully there will be more days with him and it is great to get this.

My Friend The Wind breezes home along the rail
He was a very backward horse last year and we left him off for three or four months and he seems to have turned the corner since he came in. His jumping has always been a problem for him, even though he has an awful lot of schooling done and jumped well today, bar the second last. It was a poor race but he did it well and he gave him a grand ride and everything worked out well. He is a 2m4f horse on better ground, will improve again for better ground and that's the owner's (John Earls) first winner with me.
Aoibhe's Beau readily puts them away at 66/1
That was a surprise as I went to Down Royal with her three weeks ago and she was beaten after two hurdles. It was a long trip home and I had a bit of explaining to do as well!. She had won a schooling race three weeks previously and, in fairness to the owner, he had been there - only for that he mightn't have believed me! . She stopped one day in Kilbeggan when her heart was irregular and I'm wondering does it happen when she travels a distance from home. The way she works you'd expect her to do this but you couldn't fancy her. Only for the owner, James O'Connor, I wouldn't have run her on the heavy ground - James trained Ballyhale Shamrocks to win the Club Championship last year and he trained Carrigtwohill to win the county ten years ago and that's how I got to know him. He's a Lismore man and this is his first horse with me.
Sovereign Gold off the mark in fine style
Punters Recite A Prayer but to no avail
We were hoping for the best. She ran a goodish race at Killarney the last day and that brought her on a bit. I'm happy out and we'll keep her going - whatever comes down from the heavens, comes down.
Expensive Classic Getaway shows off his engine
He is a beautiful-looking horse and I think he was a little bit more expensive than a Rolls-Royce Phantom! But I'm pretty sure Mrs Thomson will get more fun out of him than a Rolls Royce. He's a big baby and that's why I was keen to teach him and get him to stride out. He is a big baby at home for a five-year-old who had a point to point run and he's not a bumper horse. I imagine he'll go jumping later in the season - he wouldn't have run only the ground was so wet and we said we'd get a run into him. Willie didn't rush him and let him settle in - he didn't have to run this season but it just happened with the weather. I think he'll continue to improve mentally.
