The winner, Ecossais (FR), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Sedgefield on 12 November 2020, where the gelding finished sixth of eleven, beaten by 38 lengths.
Oliver Greenall’s explanation that Ecossais (FR) had benefited from a change to hold up tactics over today’s 3 miles ½ furlong trip, having disputed the lead over 3 miles 2½ furlongs at Sedgefield was noted.
Following the race, Tom Bellamy reported that Dubai Outlaw (IRE), which was pulled up, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
