Following concerns raised by the riders at the start regarding the low sun obscuring their vision at the first hurdle in the back straight, the Stewards consulted with the Clerk of the Course and ordered that this obstacle should be by-passed for this race.
The Clerk of the Scales objected to Three Ways (GB), placed second, ridden by Ben Hicks, and trained by Jamie Snowden, on the grounds of the rider weighing in at 11st, having weighed out at 11st 2lbs.
Three Ways (GB) was disqualified and the placings were revised as follows: Francky Du Berlais (FR) – second; Little Millie (IRE) – third and Goodbye Dancer (FR) – fourth.
The rider, the trainer's representative and the Clerk of the Scales were interviewed.
Hicks was suspended for 4 days as he had weighed in without his chamois leather.
