Birdcage flies for easy maiden win
we can't ask her to do anymore than that. The reason we are getting runs into our horses early, is for days like that and her experience stood to her. We think she's a Stakes filly and have to decide whether she's good enough for the Queen Mary or if she'll go for the Listed race at Naas. Colin said she was very green and could have done it better. She was looking into the stands and will come on a lot from that. She wasn't really ready to go to Tipperary but the reason we ran her was because there were only four runners. Unfortunately the jockeys made a mess of the race. I don't know if she learned anything except for having a day out but it was the winning of this race.
Osterhase's sister gains maiden win
She doesn't know she's a sprinter yet but she's an out-and-out five furlong filly. She deserved her win and Billy said she was idling in front the whole way up the straight and with the other horse (Zaindera) leaning in he couldn't get a slap into her. She'll be a proper sprinter next year. Her brother was a fair horse and it would be great if we can have as much fun with her. I'd day that surface was a little bit firm for her.
Weld & Smullen win fillies maiden
she was at the end of the line (wide draw) when she got to the line and he (Pat Smullen) had to use her up a little to get across. The plan is to probably go for a handicap next and I'd say that trip is about right.
Lyons & Keane complete Dundalk double
I think he deserved that and he came on from for his first run (of 2015). Colin (Keane) said he loved the hustle and bustle; he pulled him out for one clear run and he's genuine out.
Well backed Chatterton loses maiden tag
he's been unlucky here a few times and we were a bit more positive with him today. Shane (Foley) said 1m1f around here would suit him perfectly but I'm not sure if he'd get 1m2f though. I think he'll be better on turf and if he stays in this bracket hopefully he can go in again somewhere.
Emperor rules at Dundalk
couldn't understand. the gelding's morning price of 25/1.
Mulholland's Mountmills causes 16/1 uspet
his full-sister Juara won three for us and she seemed to appreciate stepping up in trip. I wasn't sure about him getting the mile-and-a-half as he has a bit more speed. He's going the right way and we'll look for something similar on the turf around this trip. He's named after the owner Jim Magill's Flax Oil company Mount Mills.
Hardstone toughs it out for finale win
