Inverleigh beats well-fancied stablemate on debut
It's not nice beating yourself but that's life. It worked out the way we thought as we said the only one that could beat her (Burmese Waltz) was him. He's as green as grass and very light so you might see him again or you might not. The last furlong was his best so it will be lovely going seven with him but he's a work in progress. I brought him here to try and get him eating properly and to thrive. I said to Colin yesterday are you sure you don’t want to get off her but it's hard to get off a horse with form as first time out they can do anything. It's my first winner for the owners (the Kavanaghs).
Trotter too good for favourite Tango
She is very tough and brave, and a model of consistency. It was a good tactical ride by Declan. He got a lead, took his time and got balanced. She possibly wanted to win a bit more than the second horse.
Enable's half-brother off to winning start
He’s still a big baby of a horse and very immature but has the potential to make into a very nice horse. He’s been slow coming to hand but I believe patience will pay dividends with this horse. I’ve no definite plans but we’ll see how he progresses. I’ll speak with Lord Grimthorpe and see how he comes out of the race and go from there. Potentially you would hope he will be a Stakes horse later in the year. He would appreciate a lot more ease than he had today but it was time to run him.

Ice Cold In Alex warms punters
It was ideal conditions with lovely quick ground and seven furlongs is probably his optimum. He was just worried out of it at Naas last time by a filly from Coolcullen who kept going like they always do from down there. They went a nice even pace and Niall was delighted with him. He seems to be in very good form at the moment and may come back here for Champions Weekend. He’ll probably be entered over six (at the Curragh) as well. The way he likes to be ridden with a full field you would want all the gaps and all the luck. Connections are getting great fun from him.
Impressive Eziyra completes treble for Weld & McDonogh
It was a very pleasing performance considering she hadn't run for 11 months since winning here. I think she's strengthened a lot since last year. She ran an excellent race behind Enable when she was placed in the Irish Oaks apart from her three Group wins. This was the plan to start back here, and she has a number of Group 1 entries in the coming weeks and months. She could run in the Yorkshire Oaks but we’ll have to see how she comes out of this race. The Fillies And Mares (at Ascot) would be a definite possibility for her. That was fast ground this evening and she bounced off it but she’s pretty adaptable ground wise. The Breeders Cup is also worth considering.
Well-backed Lion another for Harrington
He's a lovely horse and is unlucky not to have won a maiden. The step up in trip suited him well, and he loves that good ground. He can only improve and I didn't get him until this year because he was so big and gangly. He won't have any difficulty stepping up to two miles, and he'll definitely be kept in training next year.
